Commissions and Committees Welcome New Members
Public bodies advise council on art, climate, airport, trees, and more
On Monday night, Petaluma City Council approved the following appointments for city commissions and committees. Members of these bodies provide critical oversight and inform the democratic process. Several City Council members began their political journey within these bodies.
Airport Commission
- Drew Buechley – Regular member with a four-year term expiring 6/30/2030
- Colin Perry (reappointment) – Petaluma Area Pilots Association representative with a one-year term expiring 6/30/2027
Climate Action Commission
- Christopher Jennings, Jan Jirout, Ben Peters (reappointment) – Regular members with four-year terms expiring 6/30/2030
- Noemi Blacklock – Youth member with a two-year term expiring 6/30/2028
Historic and Cultural Preservation Committee
- Caroline Hall (reappointment) – Petaluma Museum Association/Heritage Homes & Landmarks Committee representative with a one-year term expiring 6/30/2027
Planning Commission
- Christopher Neugebauer – Regular member with a four-year term expiring 6/30/2030
Public Art Committee
- Mary Song – Petaluma Arts Council member with a four-year term expiring 6/30/2030

Public Safety Advisory Committee
- Marcus Holton, Lorena Ramirez, Danielle Nelson – Regular members with four-year terms expiring 6/30/2030
Senior Advisory Committee
- Dennis Pocekay (former council member), Melody Stewart, Samantha Vance – Regular members with two-year terms expiring 6/30/2028
- Roberta McLean – Regular member for vacated term expiring 6/30/2027
Sonoma County Library Commission
- Robin Riley (reappointment) – Regular member with a four-year term expiring 7/31/2030
Transit Advisory Committee
- Michael Acton, Eric Vazquez-Izaguirre (reappointment), Dave Alden (reappointment) – Regular members with two-year terms expiring 6/30/2028
Tree Advisory Committee
- Eric McKee, Patrick Shand, Brian Fishman – Regular members with two-year terms expiring 6/30/2028
