Tobias Young, Editor

Tobias Young is an experienced journalist, editor, and communications consultant with a career spanning more than three decades. He spent 18 years at The Press Democrat, where he reported on local government, breaking news, and regional issues. He captained the one-man Fort Bragg bureau for four years, and filled in regularly as the interim Petaluma bureau chief. He contributed freelance coverage to the Press Democrat’s Pulitzer Prize–winning reporting on the 2017 wildfires. Recently, he has worked as a marketing and public relations consultant. His three kids graduated college, but the two dogs and cat seem less ambitious. As much as possible, he dabbles in art and photography, cycles Sonoma County’s single track and backroads, hikes the Sierra with his wife, and one day soon he promises to finish that memoir.
