Shelina Moreda is a candidate for mayor of Petaluma.

Moreda declined to be interviewed or photographed for this story. She explained her refusal was based on being untrusting of Petaluma Voice due to investigative reporting detailing a November 2025 temporary restraining order requested by a prior boyfriend and issued against her by a judge. The order was dismissed without prejudice by the judge in December 2025 after the two parties reached an undisclosed agreement to settle the matter.

Moreda said she was dissatisfied with the reporting, which she contends is inaccurate. She has offered no specific challenge to any details of the reporting.
