City Council Set to Vote on Budget, General Plan

The Petaluma City Council is set to hold two significant votes tied to the city’s next budget and long-term future at its upcoming meeting on Monday night. 

The seven-member council will vote to approve a $400.4 million capital improvement and operating budget, followed by a vote to okay the preparation of the final environmental impact report for its General Plan.

Other significant items on the agenda include approval of the final list of streets slated for pavement repairs this fiscal year and an authorization tied to funding for a crosswalk and signal improvement project.

Items tentatively scheduled for the following, June 8 meeting include:

On the Consent Calendar:

  • A report on audited financials for the 2024-25 fiscal year
  • Resolutions accepting past claims and bills
  • A resolution to approve living wage adjustments
  • Several resolutions tied to various phases of infrastructure projects
  • A resolution giving notice of the regular November 3 election

Workshops and public hearings:

  • A workshop on the Caulfield Lane and Ely Boulevard South complete streets project
  • Adoption of the fiscal year 2026-27 budget
  • A review of the Independent Police Auditor Annual Report
  • Appointments to city committees and commissions
  • Resolution to adopt the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan and the 2025 Water Shortage Contingency Plan
  • Wastewater bond issuance
