In this video, a Marine Mammal Center crew rescues a sea lion on Monday, June 29, that had been spotted on the Petaluma River this week. According to Saill White, who took the video at 2:30 p.m., a total of 10 rescuers helped get the sea lion into a large metal cage. It took the well trained rescue team about 15 minutes, operating slowly and precisely. The sea lion was taken to their facility in Sausalito where it received a medical evaluation. The Marine Mammal Center has been performing these types of rescues around the region for more than 50 years. (Video by Saill White)
